Study Tours
NCELTR offers:
- Specialised language programs that can be integrated with regular classes or held separately
- English for Global Professionals - Business English plus intercultural communication
- Business English
- English PLUS (any discipline) e.g. English plus Biotechnology, English plus Education Methodology, English plus Educational Management, English plus History and Culture, English plus Translation and Interpreting.
- TESOL Theory and Practice, includingTESOL methodologies, classroom practice, school visits, sociocultural aspects of language teaching and learning and TESOL/TEFL/language program mangement.
- Participants can be integrated into normal English classes for English language tuition, or separate classes can be arranged for the group according to their English level and language requirements. Specialised programs are available in business English, intercultural communication, Australian history and culture, and IELTS and Cambridge Exam preparation..
If a specialised language program is not required, the students can be integrated into the General and Academic English classes to learn English alongside other international students.
University lectures and workshops
- NCELTR’s Study Tour programs can include specialised lectures and practical workshops run by Macquarie University’s well qualified and highly regarded academics. The University is well known for its strong focus on research, innovative teaching practices, impressive staff and cutting-edge technology. Macquarie is ranked in the top 100 universities in the world and is consistently recognised as one of the top ten Australian universities for the various research grants and fellowships awarded to its staff.
- The Study Tour programs are available in a range of disciplines, including commerce, science, technology and the humanities. They combine the English language classes with lectures on specified topics, allowing the Study Tour students to gain valuable language skills and essential academic knowledge in their area of study.
Company visits
- Macquarie University is well connected to leading corporations in a range of industries including international business, finance, accounting, media, communications, and information technology. Macquarie is the first Australian University to host its own privately-funded Research Park right on campus, accommodating well known companies such as Nortel Networks, Dow Corning and Siemens.
- Study Tour programs can include visits to companies in specified fields. These visits, combined with the English language classes, work together to provide the Study Tour students with the communication skills, intercultural awareness and industry knowledge they need to succeed in a competitive international environment.
Sightseeing excursions
- Excursions and sightseeing tours can be incorporated into the Study Tour Programs. These may include city sights tours, Sydney Harbour cruises and ferry rides, visits to native Australian wildlife parks and places of cultural interest, and trips to famous tourist destinations in and around Sydney.
Accommodation
- There are a number of accommodation options for Study Tour groups. Accommodation can be arranged on campus in the university residential colleges or apartments. Homestay accommodation with local Australian families is also available.
