NCELTR, Macquarie University is a non-city campus. The university is famous
and popular among local and international students for its unique environment,
spacious location and safe, friendly atmosphere. Home to a wildlife park, many
sporting fields and the Macquarie lake, the campus creates a community of its
own.
The
NCELTR building for English Language Programs is located in the centre of the
Macquarie campus, close to all the facilities available and adjoining Macquarie
International and the Sydney Institute of Business and Technology buildings.
Macquarie University Campus
Macquarie campus is in North Ryde, a suburb of Sydney approximately 14 km
from the centre of Sydney. The campus is widely spread over 135 hectares of green
bushland with landscaped gardens, wildlife and historical and modern buildings.
A stroll around the campus in itself is a breathtaking experience. With sculptures,
lake views and native Australian animals you will need your camera handy. And
if you are lucky you may come across an Aussie BBQ on the lawn, a soccer match,
or in the summer, the outdoor cinema ( an annual event of the Ryde Summer Festival).

Macquarie Shopping Centre
Macquarie University campus is across the road from one of Sydney’s
largest modern shopping centres. Macquarie Shopping Centre accommodates
five major retail stores along with a 16-screen Greater Union cinema complex
and 230 specialty shops including supermarkets, and an advanced Medical Centre.
Macquarie Centre is a great place for students to look for part time work. For

Transport and Timetables
There are many ways to get to NCELTR, Macquarie University. If you come by
car, bus or train, Sydney’s public transport system will get you to NCELTR.
If you are staying with a homestay family, there will be a simple route for you
to the campus. The State Transit Authority does not give international
students discounts on any public transport systems in NSW. Many private
bus companies offer discounts to full time students. See Student Services for
your application form.

Buses come from most areas around Sydney to Macquarie University. For a list

By Train
At the moment Epping Station is the closest train station to Macquarie University.
It takes approximately 10 minutes by bus from Epping Station to Macquarie University
campus and 15 minutes to Peter Board Campus. Macquarie University station is
currently being built on the campus and will be completed in 2008.
